Better known as Fito to his friends, our dad passed away on April 13th, surrounded by his loving wife and family members. We miss him already but he will forever be remembered by those close to him for his warmth and generosity…and for his corny sense of humor that always brought giggles and eye-rolls from those around him. He was a responsible father in his household and a consummate professional on the job, but many may not guess that he was also a tender nurse to a sick daughter, a jolly Santa to a grandchild, a companion on his son’s bucket-list trip to Yankee’s Stadium, a dedicated novellas partner for his wife and the best friend a Chihuahua could have. A final sentiment as he might have expressed it: A horse came into a bar one day and the bartender said, “Why the long face?” So, no long faces on Thursday, please. Come with joy and laughter as we send him on his way. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Funeraria Del Angel South Lawn, 5401 S Park Ave. with a burial to follow services at South Lawn Cemetery.
