Alan is survived by his wife, Harriet, of (almost) 52 years, daughter Elisa, son David, four grandchildren (Ian, Elaina, Ezra, Asa) and his sister Raina.
An avid sports fan, he loved his New York Yankees, New York Giants and Rutgers Scarlet Knights, his alma mater. Alan was an extremely involved and proud father and grandfather (Papa). He never missed an opportunity to show his enthusiastic and unwavering support at either the soccer field or a dance recital and competition.
Alan’s love of sports carried over into a lifelong passion for officiating. Whether it was baseball, soccer, or football his boisterous calls on the field were nothing short of legendary.
For those who were fortunate enough to know and love Alan, he lives on in their hearts through hundreds of memories, stories, adventures, and personal anecdotes. It goes without saying he will be sorely missed by so many.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to either of the following:
Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona
Jewish Federations of North America
A graveside service for Alan will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 12:00 PM at East Lawn Palms Cemetery; 5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712.
