Alexis will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her mother (Jennifer Brinkley) Brothers (CJ Gonzalez) (Wyatt Nickell) Grandparents (Fran and Bob Burke) (Larry and Annette Brinkley) Aunts and Uncles (Carrie and Jim SantaCruz) (Kristin Moore) (Cynthia and Richard Lemons) (Mike and Nicole Burns) Cousins ( JJ, Cassidy, Adelle, Burke, Evan, RoRo, Mia and David) along with numerous family members and friends .
From birth we all knew Lexie was determined. Starting off with an emergency delivery, she was ready to begin life. Lexie started walking at nine months, was potty trained at a year old and spoke like a sophisticated adult by the time she was two. She actually talked so much she would also speak for her brother Cj as well.
Lexie was one who always wanted to help and care for others. There’s nothing that can show it more than the love she had for her brothers.
The bond her and Cj shared growing up was a sight to see. Obviously, all siblings have their moments but they were truly best friends. They were there for each other and shared a deep love that will never be broken.
Then there was her bond with Wyatt. The love she shared for him is something that can not be put in words. When she would speak about or to Wyatt her eyes would light up and that beautiful smile would come out. She inspired to do great things for him and with him.
Alexis was one when she had her mind set on something she would go after it and succeed. Whether it was to graduating high school a year early or helping others. She truly had a beautiful soul and a heart of gold.
Recently Lexie moved back to Tucson and was set up to achieve new goals. She was working, signed up to attend Pima college and move into her own apartment again. She had plans for when she moved in that Wyatt could spend the weekend with her and they could go fishing and spend time together. She wanted to live!
On the morning of August 9th 2020, Alexis passed away due to addiction. Alexis' fire was extinguished far to soon and we want to keep that fire burning bright. So inspired by her, and her love of helping all those around her, her family is currently working on creating a nonprofit. Her nonprofit will give youth and young women a safe place to go in honor of Alexis' memory.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HeatherMortuary.com for the Gonzalez family.
