Alfred T. Diaz The Patriarc of 22nd Street. Our dad, brother, grandfather, uncle, nino and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 94 to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born December 27, 1920 in Jerome, Arizona to Antonio Diaz and Zeferina Torres. He served in the US Navy. He worked as a miner for over 40 years with Magma Copper in San Manuel, Arizona. He is survived by his children, Irene (Philip), Carlos (Elaine), Rebecca, Rudy, Alfred, Bob (Ruben), Roberto, Bertha, Jose, Jennifer and Jimmy (Gracie). His brother, Tony (Corina); sisters, Helena (Arturo) and Carmen (Ernest); 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wives, Josephine and Guadalupe; son, John; great-granddaughter, Brisette; brothers, Raul, Valentin, Belarmino, Ralph and sister, Josephine. We wish to thank the Telemetry staff at St. Joseph's Hospital and Casa De La Luz Hospice for our father's care. Viewing will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, Arizona, from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Rosary and Mass will be held starting at 9:30 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Parish, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. in Tucson, Arizona. Interment with Military Honors to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
