Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Altagracia was born on June 09, 1933 in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico. In her early childhood, she helped her parents take care of their home and developed an aptitude for sewing clothes and fabrics. In her teens, her mother enrolled her in Academia Aurora—a garment design academy in her hometown of Ciudad Madero. In 1949, Altagracia earned her certification as a professional seamstress at the age of 16. Putting her certification and skills to use, she began assisting her brother Benny in his small garment business. In the early 1960s she moved to Tucson, Arizona to join family and start life in a new country. There, she met her future husband, Carlos, and they were married on February 23, 1962. They had two boys, Carlos and Ricardo. Altagracia devoted herself to her sons—caring for them and providing them the best life possible. Her love for them became her passion and she carried this passion throughout her life. After her husband’s retirement in 1987, Altagracia and Carlos traveled to New York, California, Texas, Virginia, and Alaska to visit the places their sons’ were stationed as part of their military service. Altagracia very much loved and cherished all of her grandchildren and was blessed to see them grow from newborns to young adults. Altagracia was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos, of 55 years. She is survived by her two sons Carlos Juan and Ricardo Pablo; and her grandchildren. Born in the midst of the Great Depression, Altagracia drew strength from her childhood, became an independent young woman, and dedicated herself as wife and mother. She will be missed dearly by family, friends, and the many people that had the opportunity to know her. Te amamos Nana. Que Dios te reciba en sus brazos y encuentres felicidad en los cielos de nuestro gran creador. Siempre estaras en nuestros pensamientos y corazones.
