The Nance, Sackie, Seton, Cummings, Sleweon and Gracelia Howard families, announce with deep sorrow the passing of our dearly beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and loved one, Mrs. Amelia Y. Sackie Nance.
This sudden and sad event occurred on January 14th, 2020 at her home in Tucson Arizona, after a brief period of illness. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Orville C. Nance; her children, Claudius (Jenny), Christopher (Ashley), Diamond (Daniel), Altina, Pearl and Ruthlyn; her siblings Albertine, Sam (Cecelia), and all of Lil Ma’s children. She is also survived by her aunt and uncles, Helena Seton Roberts, Allen and Waakah Seton. Yudeh, Mamie, Ma, G-Ma, Yah, as she was affectionately called, is also survived by The Gracelia Howard, George & Julia Sleweon, and Mary Tamakloe families, and many lifelong relationships that she cherished till her passing. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and grafted grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, and other relatives and friends in Liberia, Canada and the United States.
Also grieving her loss, is the management and staff of LTS, a company she co-founded and managed for 15 years, and the loving and caring church family at Midvale Park Seventh–Day Adventist Church.
Amelia was predeceased by her father, Brig Gen Thomas Z. Sackie, her mother Martina M. Seton, her step-mother Magdaline Thomas Sackie, and her siblings, Lady Louise, Thomas, Thelma and Nora, amongst other relatives.
The family requests that all tributes be made during the wake, except for the Family, Church and designated organizations.
