Amelia Marie Amelia Marie Rice blessed us with her presence on June 6, 2005. From the moment she was born she had us wrapped around her tiny fingers. She captivated everyone she met with her big blue eyes and her contagious laughter. To hear it would brighten even the darkest day. Amelia had the purest of hearts and was our greatest joy. She was truly the sweetest girl who could melt even the hardest of hearts. Do not be fooled, Amelia also had a feisty side! She could be a troublemaker when she wanted and lived by the creed of “Don’t tell ME what to do!” But that spunk was just another reason we loved her. She maintained that spunky attitude throughout the progression of her disease and it was our way of knowing that Amelia was still Amelia.

Although she was nonverbal, she found ways to communicate with us. People have asked how we knew what she needed, or how she was feeling, and we simply told them that Amelia would find a way to tell us! All you had to do was pay attention. Just because she couldn’t talk didn’t mean she had nothing to say.

Amelia loved music, especially Blue’s Clues and the Wiggles. She loved bouncing on beds and most of the time that is what she enjoyed doing the most, even on family vacations. She loved her sippy cup and teasing her brother. If objects weren’t nailed down, she would grab anything she could get her hands on and chew on it or throw it! We learned this lesson the hard way.

Our Earthly angel gained her wings at 7:59AM on June 5, 2021, one day before her 16th birthday in true Amelia style. Amelia did things how she wanted and when she wanted.

The world lost a beautiful soul the day God took her home, but we take comfort in knowing that she is free and perfect in the arms of her Heavenly Father. And we know that one day she will be there to welcome each one of us. This life is temporary, but we will be together for eternity.

Amelia taught us so many lessons in her short 15 years, too many to list. Most importantly she taught us what true, unconditional love feels like. To be near her was to know God and feel His love. She taught us that patience is a virtue and to take the time to slow down and smell the roses. That every day was a gift, and miracles are miracles, no matter how small. She brought so many of us together through our immense love for her. She taught us to be strong even in our weakest moments. She is a hero to many, just by being her sweet self. Amelia was the bravest, most courageous of souls and though she endured so much pain, she stayed happy. She taught the world so much more than we could ever teach her.

We were so incredibly lucky to have been entrusted with such a beautiful soul, and we will gladly bear the pain of losing her because for a brief time, we got to have one of God’s angels here on Earth. So fly high sweet Amelia Bedelia, we love you forever!!

I watched ameilia come into this world and she pulled at my heart strings the moment I saw her. Just when I thought I could never adore her anymore than I did she just kept giving me more and joy by watching her doing just about anything. Her smile and laughter was so much apart of her and she could get you to do anything for her. One of best memories of ameilia was when she learned to walk with one bad leg she would run as fast as she could and eventually trip over her foot of her bad leg fall down and laugh and take off again. She loved life and she let it show with her bigger than life personality.
Fly high amelia. I can still hear your laugh even though your gone but not forgotten

All I ever saw of my niece Amelia was through the pictures Willow put on Facebook. Through these and Willow's comments I came to love her and know of her high status. She came to earth for a while to elevate the rest of us. She has gone to a far better place and was welcomed home by Uncle Henry, (who's smile I can see as he greeted her), Aunt Iva my folks and brothers and many others. The Savior also greeted her.

Sweet Amelia,
I remember when you and your family made a trip to Montana and I was able to meet you for the first time. You were so relaxed just hanging out on the couch while your mom and I were able to enjoy chatting about all the times we were young and to chat about how life was going now for us. I was also given the brief opportunity twice while you were visiting to sit, just you and me, and to be able to chat with you. Even though you were unable to speak I know that you were listening and that you knew what I was saying. I enjoyed these precious moments with you at that cabin and at the beach. You were a sweet heart then and you will be a sweet heart always. Love you Amelia

My sweet, sweet girl! I have known you since you were born; your mom & I were the best of friends & pregnant at the same time. Things didn't quite go the same for her & me, but she came out so much stronger because you made her that way. Your smile was contagious from the beginning & you were so FAST! You would snatch up something & put it in your mouth before anyone could even blink! Thank you for continuing to watch over my dear friend, she needs you. I'm grateful she sees you sending her messages. I love you. Thank you for always being such a wonderful presence in our world.

Amelia truly was a light in our family, one we knew was a reflection of her pure, sweet soul. The moment she came into this world and every moment after was cherished and that continued every day until God called her home. She wasn't able to communicate verbally but her beautiful eyes and sweet personality said it all, she had more love to give then one would think could be contained in a child. I will always remember her giggling and that smile that lit up her whole face that made you smile yourself. She also had a strength inside her, a will to fight and stay with her family as long as she could that makes me love her even more. We will all be together again one day Amelia Bugs, until then continue to send your butterflies with love. Aunty Amber loves you Amelia Marie Rice and I always will.

My sweetest Amelia,
I love you more than words could ever say. You saved me and gave me a reason to live, you taught me so many lessons about life, and you made me the happiest mommy. I cherish all the time we got to spend together and I loved taking care of you. I would have done it forever if I could.
I miss you terribly, and my heart aches for you every second. But I know you have a greater purpose and things to do on your side so I will carry you in my heart until I can at last hold you in my arms again.
Love,
Mommy

Amelia was a ray of sunshine and laughter in my life from the day she walked into my classroom. She was always full of spunk and smiles. My time with her was the best time in my day. We would work together, laugh and take strolls around the school daily. She brought so much joy to her peers, teachers and staff and will always be remembered! I will always love you little angel!

FROM THE FAMILY

When the doctor told me that I was going to deliver my baby, I thought he was crazy. But I pulled her right up to my chest and the first thing she did was open her pretty eyes.

FROM THE FAMILY

My baby you will always be, no matter where you are. You're like a little part of me whether near or far. I counted all your tiny toes when you were fresh and new. Words can't express how proud I was that I'd been given you. Your tiny newborn face I couldn't have loved more. And though your face was new to me 'twas like we'd met before. And so each day you grew and grew as I looked proudly on. Until one day, I looked and saw your baby days were gone. But once my baby, you will stay that way for all my days. My baby you will always be and I'll love you always
