Amy, you were a truly treasured friend. I remember the adventures and mischief, the joys and the heartbreaks we shared at university. And although I have been on the other side of the world since then, we kept in touch. We weren't the best of correspondents, but I always knew that when we met, we'd pick up where we left off. I loved having you visit me in Malaysia and am so glad we could meet every time I was in the USA. I will remember your great and generous heart which always had room for more friends and adopted family, your strong connection with animals, your sense of humour and spontaneity, your flair with languages and much more. Rest well, dearest friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your many, many loved ones.

With they craziness going on in the world and the challenges that are often faced, I have been thinking of you. My thoughts of how it has been four months since you have been gone and yet our families haven’t been able to come together to celebrate you and share memories of how you have touched our lives. I miss being able to chat with you about anything and how you were always reasonable about how petty small challenges often were. I also miss just having a great friend who would lend an ear. You are missed.

My dearest Amy, my heart still weeps. You were one of my first friends when I moved in 97. So many passages, so many life events, so many memories… Do you now have an idea of how instrumental you were in my life? Your presence, your advice, our shared experiences… you changed my life, honey. Your loving advice is one I’ll cherish. Isa will grow knowing who the lady smiling from her bike and behind some of my most wonderful art gifts is. My one regret is that Covid prevented me from hugging you and being there at your treatments, instead of on the phone with you. I pray you felt surrounded by love as you departed. My dear angel. What a life well-led.  Can't believe how much we miss you already.  But we have six decades of remembered adventures as consolation, and you'll be around with us always, in those memories. The short time my husband and I knew her, we knew as the most kind hearted lady and need more Amy’s like her in our world. She cared more about the quality of life than quantity of what life can bring her. She graciously chose US to live in her home that she put much love into and now we call it our FOREVER home!! She will forever live in our hearts.

My late husband, Guy, and I met Amy Blake & Mark Jarecki, in 2006 and were impressed with both of them.  Amy was delight to spend time with and always had plans for her next adventure. She was also a fighter and tried her best to beat cancer. I am so sad that she has left us after all she went through.  Amy was a special person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  My condolences and prayers to her family and many friends who knew her better than I did.

Amy was my financial planner and more importantly my friend for 30 years. Her calm, compassionate, non-judgemental approach to planning for life and all its uncertainty were unparalleled.  We shared hard times and joyful times throughout our lives and I will miss her very, very much. 

Amy was my sister-in-law. She was bad-ass when she needed to be and a warm, soupy, comforting balm the rest of the time.  Either way, Amy's existence, both verbally and spiritually, was uplifting and empowering.  

When she was diagnosed, I never got the feeling that she needed me to be a certain way or to say certain words. Her stance was, "I got this. Here's what's happening. No worries. How are you doing?"

I will miss her casual way of inserting advice into a conversation, yet her intense way of supporting my decisions and actions.

I will never pet my dogs without thinking of her love of animals. I will always think that I should do more for them because of Amy.

To those Amy left behind, I hope that we can keep alive that feeling of loving and beloving, giving and forgiving that Amy inspired in her years with us.


One of my favorite childhood memories is getting together with cousins for the holidays and other special events, held mostly at our grandparents' home in Red Wing, Minnesota.  I remember cousin Amy as a ball of energy:  smart, warm, upbeat, humorous, and just mischievous enough to create tons of fun for us!   At a "girl cousins" reunion in June of 2019,  Amy was her usual energetic, positive self, looking radiant and happy.   My sisters and I were shocked and sad when we heard the news of Amy's diagnosis.  We send our heartfelt condolences to Lisa, Eric, and Eva, along with their families.  I feel fortunate to have seen Amy as the lively, fun cousin we all love and remember. Amy will remain just as beautiful as she was then in our minds and hearts.

I had the privilege of knowing Amy as a friend and mutual advisor with Commonwealth. Yes she was one of a kind. Sweet caring loving and a great advisor.  She will surely be missed. RIP

I have so many funny memories about my relationship with Amy. One of these was financial advice... I told her that I wanted to buy a big TV and she said to move my chair closer.

I first met Amy swimming laps at UA Student Union Pool…we choose adjacent lanes pacing each other for months before we bothered to introduce ourselves. Of course, Amy was the one to reach out one evening after our workout. We have been friends ever since. I love to take credit for being the first person she gave financial advice…her money-making scheme was to donate plasma. Everyone knows the rest of her financial advising history. Over the years there were times we wouldn’t see each other for a while… but when we did, we were sisters with no need to reconnect. There are so many things I would like to share but the thing that stands out about Amy was she was a “drop everything” friend. If you needed something, she was going to make sure you had it. That was the only kind of friend Amy knew how to be and I will always love her for that. You may be gone but you will never leave my heart. I love you.

You have been a true inspiration. You fought so hard. We've been friends since 1989 and you stayed at my house in both Salida and Leadville. I will miss you forever and love you.

So sorry to hear of Amy's passing.  She was a treasured long distance colleague during our days at First Investors.  I have been with Commonwealth for 2.5 years now and had no idea she was affiliated also.  I hope she was able to enjoy some retirement days after a tremendous career.  She was an incredibly caring and uplifting person and an advisor that would put her clients above all else.  Big loss for all.  RIP Amy! 

My memories of adventures with Amy are many and will be cherished - the wine festivals, the dive trips to Mexico and Hawaii, the many experiences we had in New Orleans but also the relaxing dinners by the pool. Knowing Amy and having the opportunity to meet many of her other amazing friends has enriched my life.  I so admired the depth with which she cared for everyone in her circle of friends, ss well as her clients and the many charitable organizations she supported.  Amy did not do things halfway, if she was going to be involved she was all in. I am going to miss my dear friend and I hope she is at peace after such a tough fight.  

Kind, caring, capable and a good friend. Amy will be missed and long remembered by those of us who had the privilege to know her.

Amy was my friend.  We trained our dogs together as well as helping other dog owners.  We rode the El Tour De Tucson together and she was an angel.  She was kind and generous and so loving.  Heaven got a great one!

My husband Dave Coatsworth and I admired Amy as our financial advisor and considered her a true friend also.  We are so sorrowful at her suffering and early passing. Our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved her. 

Oooh, Amy! Such a wacky spirit! She was one of my first friends when I moved to Tucson in 8th grade. One random day that year she had the nutty idea that we should dress up like the cartoon cleaning woman on the Carol Burnett Show. Three or four of us got into costume and carried around a bucket and mop. Across our butts we pinned signs: CLEANING WOMEN’S ASSN. 

Yes—-one of a kind! She will be missed.
