Anthony Scott Manninen died at his home in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the age of 53. Scott started life September 16, 1968 the son of Mary and Arnold Manninen at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. Born into an Air Force family, his early life was spent moving every couple of years (Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, Ohio) until the family settled in Arizona in 1977.
A graduate of Palo Verde High School, Scott worked primarily in construction most of his adult life until a work related injury (truthfully new trauma aggravating an even earlier work related injury) sidelined him.
In 2003 Scott married Sherry Leigh Sisson, the love of his life, at the same time taking into his heart Sherry's daughter Sabrina, as well. Sherry died in 2014 and Scott never truly recovered from her death. After she died, Scott found it difficult speak of Sherry, even years later, but no conversation of more than five minutes failed to include details of Sabrina's latest adventures and plans.
Scott had a love of fun and adventure, a sense of mischief, and a streak of sheer orneriness inherited from his father and shared by his siblings. When he was younger he hiked and mountain biked, past-times made extremely difficult after his back injury.
He weathered the pandemic relatively unscathed and most recently had enjoyed fishing trips and evenings playing pool with friends.
Scott is preceded in death by his mother Mary, father Arnold, grandmother Elma, and his beloved Sherry. He is survived by his brother Greg, sister Elizabeth, and beloved step-daughter Sabrina.
A service to remember Scott and celebrate his life will be held Sunday May 29,
2022 12:00pm in Tucson at East Lawn Palms Mortuary. (5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ
