Arlethia Rosine King, 66-years young – died Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from injuries suffered in a senseless automobile accident by an impaired driver two days earlier.
Arlethia, lovingly known as Lisa, is survived by her sons, Monte Reed (Conny), Michael Reed (Melody), Meshawn Reed, her siblings, Anthony King (Sharon), Alphonso King (Stephanie), April King (Twala), six grandchildren, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Lawrence & Eva King, and two brothers, Antonio (Tony) King & Donald Ray King.
Lisa was born in Houston, Texas and moved to California with her family when she was an infant. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley area of Southern California and spent most summers with her siblings in Madisonville, Texas with her grandparents, and countless relatives. She received her degree in Fashion Design and was a master-seamstress, which was her passion. Lisa also spent most of her professional life working in human resources , but always continued her passion for fashion.
Lisa’s adult life was centered around her three boys, her grandchildren, church, and being an advocate for justice-system reform related to innocently incarcerated minorities. She will always be loved and remembered as a giving and caring daughter, mother, sister, and friend to all those who knew her.
The family sincerely hopes this tragic event serves as a sobering reminder of the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the significant impact that it has on the lives of innocent people.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 5801 E. Grant Road Tucson, AZ 85712.
