
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Edmundo Ross, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Art was born in Torrance, California to Mercedes Cardenas Valenzuela and Francisco Dominguez Ross. He worked at Todd’s Shipyard, and as a K card with the Local Union 13 in the Port of Los Angeles. Upon moving to Tucson, Art worked in construction and Industrial appliance installation and maintenance. Upon retiring he became a Barber and worked for the Tucson Unified School District as a Crossing Guard, Monitor, and Bus Monitor. The interaction with the kids on the bus and at school, and with his co-workers were the highlights of his week.
Art was gregarious, a trash talker, and never passed up an opportunity to make conversation with friends and strangers alike. He loved the Blues, Motown, and R&B. He was a lifelong Dodger fan and Boxing aficionado. Upon discharge from the hospital, he spent that evening surrounded by family and friends watching his final Dodger game. He loved Fishing, spending time with his Grandkids, and above all people.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cheryl Ross. “Cheryl Ann” as he affectionately called her, was his rock and his center. Their love for one another stood the test of time, and stayed with them through the many seasons of life they experienced together. They remain devoted to each other through Art’s passing and for an Eternity.
Art is also survived by four children Lorene Dabovitch, husband Chris; children; Christopher, Ashlee, Adam and Lorene’s mother, Suzanne who remained a lifelong friend.
Arthur Jr. and Ex-Wife, Roxanne, affectionately referred to by Art as his “Favorite daughter in law” (His only daughter in law) and “That Spanish Girl.” Their two children, Arturo and Guillermo (Memo).

Preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Mercedes Cardenas Valenzuela and Francisco Dominguez Ross; his son Carlos Ross, In-Laws; John Arensberg and Edith McMillen, and siblings; Jimmi Ross, Carlos Morales, Frank Ross, Linda Gutierrez, David Ross and Richard Ross. Surviving siblings include George Ross, Norma Garcia, and Mary Mathlin.
Sibling in-laws include Tim Vuoso, Judy Ross, Esther Morales, Debbie Arensberg, Ralph Torres, Thomas Arensberg, Tina Ross, Ray Garcia Sr. (Deceased), John Arensberg Jr (Deceased)
