Bertha Myers, native Arizonan and long-time Tucson resident, passed away on February 16, 2019 following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her brother Armando, and her sister Ruby. She is survived by daughters Barbara and Beverly, grandchildren Alecs, Dallas, Melanie and Jeremy, and great granddaughter Clara. Bertha was a multi-tasking wife, mother, friend and career woman who retired from Davis Monthan A.F.B. after 30 years of Federal Civil Service. She followed that career by working for several years as a seasonal bilingual tax consultant. That second career kept boredom at bay and helped fund her trips to Europe and Scandinavia as well as each of the 50 states. She joined Beta Sigma Phi International sorority in 1955 and was an active member of chapters in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Tucson. Prior to her illness Bertha loved to travel, hike, ride horses, swim, dance, entertain, sew, do crafts, shop and take pictures of everything and everyone. She was a fighter who rose to each challenge, refused to quit, was determined to live life to the fullest, never miss out on anything fun, and she liked to end the day by watching the sunset. She fought the good fight and lived the good life. May she rest in peace.
