She was survived by daughters Deborah J. (Leon) Tatro and Vickie Lynn B. (Wade) Nelson; Grandchildren Ricky, Brad, Derek Nelson, Shannon Tatro-Forbis, and Michael Tatro; Great Grandchildren Tristan, Wilhelm, Wyatt, Nelson, Donald IV, Dylan, Devin, and Danika Forbis.
Betty was born in Union Center, Wisconsin to Clinton and Lucy Cole, the youngest of 6 children. After moving to Colona, Illinois, Betty graduated from United Township High School where she met Bill Brokaw. They were married August 4th, 1953.
They moved their family to Tucson, Arizona in August 1963. Together they owned and operated Bills Auto Body Shop for 23 years. After they sold the body shop and retired, they traveled for many years in their motorhome.
Betty was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary unit 18 where she held positions of Commander, Senior Vice, Junior Vice, and most recently, Chaplain. She was a life member of the VFW #4903 where she was an avid bingo player. She played bingo 3 times a week when she was able.
Visitation to be held Monday, November 14, 2022 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with funeral services at 12:30 p.m. followed by graveside service at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery 5801 E. Grant Rd.
