Betty Sue Strickland Burt peacefully passed away at her home in Tucson, Arizona on Monday, September 30, 2013. Betty was born in Claxton, Georgia, on September 3, 1932, daughter of Willie Wallace Strickland and Mae Deloach Strickland.  She is survived by her 3 children, Janet Burt of Tucson, Arizona; James (Laura) Burt Jr. of Gardnerville, Nevada; R. Wayne (Laura) Burt of Lexington Park, Maryland, 9 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son John and grandson Kevin.  She was interred next to John at Resthaven Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.  

Grandma Spot never retired from being our mother and grandmother, nor do we expect she ever will.  Her strength and courage, as well as her sense of humor and taste for ice cream carried her to the very end.
