

He was born on April 22, 1956 in American Fork, Utah to parents Ralph and Bonnie Bennett. Blaine graduated from Pima High school and would go on to serve six years in the United States Army. Following his military service, Blaine made his home in Safford, Arizona and worked for many years at the Phelps Dodge Mine in Morenci. Blaine would eventually settle in Sahuarita, Arizona in order to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Blaine was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was the ultimate handyman and could learn to build or repair anything he put his mind to. Blaine’s most cherished role was as a father and grandfather where he was lovingly referred to as Grandpa and Tata Blaine by his grandchildren.
Blaine was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Bonnie; and sister, Susan. He is survived by his daughter, Melanie (Steven) Romero; sons, Blaine (Carolina) Bennett and John (Katherine) Bennett; and six grandchildren, Desirae, Clarissa, Steven, Amaya, Caden and Calleigh.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 24 at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Avenue, Tucson, Arizona 85706.
