In 1989, she moved to Tucson with her children, joining her husband who had arrived two years earlier. Bogy worked as a housekeeping manager at Ventana Canyon Resort before joining her husband’s machine shop as the office manager.
Bogy was happiest when surrounded by people. She loved socializing, and sharing stories. A devoted Catholic, she volunteered at St. Cyril of Alexandria and at Polish community events. She was part of the Polish church choir—singing brought her joy.
She spent the last 13 years living with dementia.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Antoni Pogorzelski; her sons, Andrew Pogorzelski and Marek Pogorzelski, along with her four grandchildren. She is survived as well by her brothers, Benek Łapiński and Wiesiek Łapiński. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Pogorzelski, and her brother, Janek Łapiński.
The family is deeply grateful to the wonderful people at her assisted living home for the warmth, patience, and care they gave her in her final years.
