Hi Daddy,
It's 10 years today.  Life has not been the same without you here, but one thing that will never change is the love & respect we have for you.  We are all doing well, you would be so proud of all your grandkids.  We continue to work hard and make you proud. There's a mixture of emotions.  I think of you & miss you everyday.  I miss sitting by you, watching westerns with you, cooking for you, singing & playing guitar for you. I'm smiling today too though, I have a very special gift for you.  Fuerte y Libre, my CD to honor you is being delivered today!  It has taken a long time to complete this project of love, but its finally happening!  There are songs about you, family, Tata Chale, childhood memories, well-loved rancheras, and of course i wrote a corridito about my favorite drink Membrillo.  I had Mama record her beautiful harmonies on a couple tracks too.  She can't wait to share the CD with her friends.  I expect you to celebrate with a big pachanga in heaven with our loved ones. Still unbelievable, 9 years since you've been gone.  We think of you every day.  So much has happened, life is stressful but we feel your strength in us.  We are certainly blessed to have had a father like you.  I know you continue to watch over all of us.  Mama is doing well, always keeping busy, funny as ever, and missing you too. I always remember telling my dad he reminded me of Antonio Aguilar! I loved it when our Mariachi Los Diablitos de Sunnyside went to the squadron and sang to them and he just couldn't get enough! My mom did not go to school, so she had to learn to read and write on her own. During the hot summer nights when after the brothers came into the field, my mother begged her brothers to teach her the abc's, see my mom could not go to public school, because she was the oldest daughter and needed to help her ailing mother tend the chores and cook.  Well, with the light of the moon and a stick and dirt my uncles Chale, Jose, Jesus Maria, Santiago, Antonio, Franciso Canez taught my mother her ABCs and Math..of course in Spanish..my mother's uncles are one of my greatest assets, they are true Americans and it makes me proud to be Chalitos cousin, he is alittle bit of God and spirit for me..I am honored to be at his presence as he embraces God's kingdom.
