Carol was born in Silver City, New Mexico, and lived there until the age of three, when she moved to Tucson, Arizona. She was the eldest of 5 siblings.
Carol is survived by her sisters Geraldine (Frank), Evelyn (Jose), and Melissa (Anthony), and her brother Mel (Jahssel), along with many nieces and nephews who absolutely adored her. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Daniel and Rosie Ortiz, and the love of her life, Mike Rodriguez. Mike passed away on January 20, and in a true love story, eight years later to the very day, they were reunited in heaven.
Carol will always be remembered for her kindness, joyful spirit, and the love she shared so freely. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, working on crossword puzzles, spending hours doing jigsaw puzzles with others, and enjoying an ice-cold Pepsi while watching her favorite reruns of Little House on the Prairie or Gunsmoke. She loved birds and had two of her very own.
Music brought Carol joy. She could often be found wearing her headphones, playing her CD player, and singing along to her favorite 80s and 90s songs—songs her family could hear all the way down the hall.
She was our beloved sister, now reunited with our parents and her beloved Mike, resting peacefully among the angels in God’s loving presence.
