Carol Paz. returned to her heavenly home on May 30, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. She devoted herself to the Lord and her family. Survived by her sons Sal Jr (Denise), Sebastian (Rosalinda), Samuel (Yazmin) and her daughter Samantha (Carlos) along with her beloved granddaughters Savannah, Sophia, Sienna, Suzette, Sevina and her dear grandsons Noah, Jacob, and Damian. Carol has joined her husband Salvador Sr. (2020) and granddaughter Sebella (2005).
Carol was born in the small mining town of Tiger, Arizona in 1948. She spent her childhood with her four sisters and out in nature where she truly belonged. She moved to Tucson and attended Tucson High Magnet School then became a medical assistant for a doctor’s office.
She met her husband Sal in 1969 then married in 1973 and moved to Chicago the same year. They then moved back to Tucson and started their family. While Carol was a homemaker, she still pursued classes at Pima Community College. It was until 1999, Carol started working with Chicanos Por La Causa as Spanish teacher then became a case manager assisting students in need. She truly felt fulfilled in this role and will always be known as Mrs. Paz.
Carol was one of a kind as she had many hobbies and talents. She loved to collect gems, minerals, and interesting rocks from her travels. Most memorably, she painted and carved wood. During her retirement, she took care of her grandchildren and shared her childhood stories along with teaching them arts and crafts.
Our mother is known for her incredible faith in the Lord. Carol enjoyed the teachings of Kenneth Copeland, Billy Graham and Joyce Meyers. Many times, walking into her house, she would play worship music and praised the Lord joyfully. She is the definition of unconditional and was always joyful.
Throughout her life, Carol embodied kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. Her legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.
There are not enough words to describe our mother and how she impacted our lives until her last days on earth. We are forever grateful and blessed to call her mom, and she will be missed always.
Thank you to all who cared for our mother, to family and friends who visited, supported, and kept Carol in their thoughts and prayers.
Please join us to celebrate the life of Carol & Sal Sr. on Sunday June 30th at 9 am at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery. Reception to follow at American Legion Post 68 - at 12 pm.
As Carol prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same - go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. If you feel so moved, reach out and tell us about it - or another joyful time shared with Carol!
