To my dear cousins,
How can I express in words how much we will miss your mom and yet I rejoice in the FACT that your mother, is resting in the Lord and is free from all her ailments and limitations this world put on her.  She is home dear cousins and the best way to honor her memory is to remember her teachings and obey her scoldings, knowing that she wanted only the best for us. Let us step us and minister to the sick and poor in spirit and health the way she taught us.  Let us strive to follow her "home" so that we my also rest in the Lord.

May the Lord and all the wonderful memories you have of her comfort you at this time.

Mi " Tia Catalina " You were on my mind last week and then I found out that the Lord had sent for you. I can only echo what everyone else knows and that is that you were known for your devotion as a Christian.You were "Christ like" in that your faith in Jesus never faltered. As a youngster I had the greatest respect for you because you radiated confidence and your walk with the Lord was genuine. You set the standard of measurement  for personal integrity . God is happy with you as is everyone you touched with your grace. I share in "Rejoicing" along with your family, knowing that you are in Paradise along with your loved ones who were waiting to greet you there.  your loving memory remains with us ... Amen..

On behalf of our family, we want to extend our condolences to the entire Ortiz Family. Sis. Catalina always had a way to make you laugh!       We appreciate her faithfulness to the Lord which is an example to each and every one of us. A strong woman, left widowed at a young age to bring up the family on her own and to teach them the ways of God !  We are praying for all of you during this very difficult time !

I have soooooo many memories visiting Hna. Catalina with my tia Lupe and uncle Victor and the church on Delaware, Mt. Lemmon..even being scolded :) too many memories... A beautiful person with a Godly soul! She will sure be missed. God Bless you sister and thank you for always being such a nice person and treating my sister and I as family even when we didn't share any of your blood.

Hermana Catalina, where have you gone?? To be with Hermano Raphael for sure!! There's no other place to go around here, and a lateral move is out of the question! A step up, of course!! To the Glory Land, to get your reward for being a faithful servant to the Lord all of your life!
   No longer will we be graced with your presence at functions. No longer will we be graced and serenaded by your beautiful voice. You were not silenced Hermana. God promoted you to the Eternal Chorus, to sing to us from above the clouds!!  To proclaim to the world that He is coming, and to announce His arrival on the day of His return.
   I could go on, and on, about this wonderful lady, but mere words will not do her legacy justice.  This was a person who was all heart, always giving of herself, always doing her share of everything there was to do.
   I understood from my parents, that my brother, and I, owed our lives to her, and Hermano Raphael (RIP). We were told how our family had come from Colorado, on a wing, and a prayer, with no money, and nothing to eat. How all the Brothers and Sister from hers, and other churches stepped in to keep us alive. Hermana Catalina, and Hermano Raphael, would bring us goat milk daily to keep us not only healthy, but alive. I had a different view of this lady after I heard that true story. I put her up there in my People Hall of Fame, where I had always had Hermano Raphael. I remember helping Hermano Raphael, construct the Star of David, on the church on Delaware, and her always yelling at me to get off of the scaffolding. I have many memories of her, and all of them are good. I could be found here til Judgement Day, writing good things about this lady.
   To the immediate, and extended Ortiz families, my sincerest condolences to all. Of course Hermana didn't want sorrows on her death, she always asked for rejoicing, so I will join all of you in rejoicing her promotion to the Glory Land, to the land "mas alla del Sol"!!!  She will be missed by all she touched, and that is a good amount of people. She will live forever in our hearts, and minds.  Don't cry for Hermana Catalina, SING!!!!
