She was the eighth of eleven children born to Vernon and Marcella Odell. The family moved to Tucson, AZ in 1956.
In her younger years Cathy participated in Special Olympics in Tucson. Cathy enjoyed working for the Beacon Foundation for many years. Upon retirement she became a full-time member of the Beacon Day Program. There she interacted with others, helped make lunches, completed art projects, watched movies, went on outings and to dances.
She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Marcella, her brothers Gene, Robert and Roger and her sisters Joan Mary, Gloria, Margaret and Delores.
She is survived by her brothers Dean and David and her sister Harriet. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews
