Clara R. Landeros
September 7, 1923 – July 30, 2020
Clara Robles Landeros, age 96, passed peacefully on July 30, 2020. Born September 7th, 1923, she was native to Tucson, Arizona and hailed from a legacy of Robles family members that trace their local lineage back to the early 1800’s. On July 7th 1942, she married Jose R. Landeros, who preceded her in death in 1988. Clara was an active volunteer in her community as well as active in her daily life. For many years, she helped others prepare to assimilate for US citizenry and learn English as an adult education teacher. She also devoted her time volunteering as a teacher’s assistant working with elementary school children in the Amphitheater School District for over twenty years. She enjoyed competition and was an active walker participating in the Tucson Senior Olympics in which she won a collection of medals for her efforts. She loved a good game of Scrabble with anyone who was willing, and when she wasn’t playing a board game, she enjoyed watching game shows. Born into a family with seven brothers and six sisters, she is survived by her three younger sisters, Ida, Socorro, and Irene. Clara has three children, JoAnn Anthony, James Landeros, and Dennis Landeros that reside in California and Tucson respectively. She also has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren that all have fond memories of their Nana. She will be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetary, Tucson.
