Columbus "Bud" Houston Bland

C. H. (Bud) Bland, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went peacefully to be with the Lord on November 3, 2017. He was born in Danville, VA on June 2, 1933 to Loyd and Myrtle Bland. Bud met his loving wife of 64 years, Elva, while in the Navy and after attending Tech School in Pennsylvania he worked as a mechanic in Illinois and Tucson. In 1963, they along with their three children moved to Tucson. He was a man of many talents and finished his working career as an OSHA compliance officer with the State of Arizona. He is survived by his wife, his dear children Donna (Jack) Walton, Elaine (Brian) Skelly and Lance; his precious grandchildren, Brianna (Josh), Erin, and Angie (Eric); as well as many loving friends. He was a member of Tucson Baptist Church for many years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at East Lawn Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd. between 4:00 & 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Tucson Baptist Church, 1525 S. Columbus Blvd. at 10:30am with graveside service to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bud’s memory to Tucson Baptist Academy (www.tucsonbaptistacademy.com) or the U of A Cancer Center (www.uacc.arizona.edu).
