David Lon Maxwell

Dave was a devoted father, a loving grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man whose unwavering kindness touched everyone he met. Dave built a life rooted in hard work, humility, and deep family values. He found his greatest joy in the love of his family and the simple pleasures of the everyday.

Dave was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Brandy; his parents Don and Pam; and his older brother Steve. Though their absence left an ache in his heart, he carried their memories with grace and resilience.

Dave was a proud Chicago sports fan. Game days were sacred in our house, where you could always hear the sounds of him rooting for the Bears, Bulls, Cubs and Blackhawks throughout the halls. Win or lose he was a supporter until the end. He is now in the best seat in the house - no bad refs, no blown calls - just eternal game day. Perhaps nothing brought Dave more peace than cranking up his favorite band KISS and riding his Harley Davidson down the open road. It was in those moments - just him, the bike, his music, and the horizon - that he felt the most solace.

Dave is survived by his two daughters, Heather Hins and Holly Akin, and son Joseph Ashbacher. A proud and supportive father Dave was always there with encouragement, guidance and love. He also welcomed into his heart two son-in-laws, Calin Hins and Harley Akin, eleven grandchildren who brought light and laughter to his life, and all the friends who became family along the way.

Dave's journey on earth may be complete but the imprint of his love, loyalty, and courage will remain in the hearts of all who knew him and continue to love him.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held at South Lawn on June 6 with visitation beginning at 3 pm.

A visitation for David will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
