battling health complications on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the age of 61. He was born in Detroit,
Michigan on October 31, 1956 to his parents Wilma and Casimer Skutecki.
David attended the Air Force Basic Military Training School, served 20 years, earned many awards, and
traveled the world. In 1983 David welcomed his oldest son Brendon into the world in South Korea. Six
years later he welcomed his youngest son Damon in San Antonio, TX. After settling in Tucson, AZ David
gave back to the Tucson community as a leader and Supervisor at Rural Metro Emergency Medical
Services, volunteered at the Arizona Humane Society, and was also a volunteer firefighter. He would
proudly say that above all else he was a father, and a family man. David was a single father to two boys
until merging families with his wife Maria in 2001. They built a life together seeing their two sons and
two daughters into adulthood. In 2008 he welcomed his only Grandson, and best friend, Landon
Skutecki, to the family. Dave's sole focus in life was his family. He devoted every moment to keeping
them safe, and making them smile. Impossible to replace and unforgettably lovable, he is missed to the
highest degree.
He survived by his wife Maria Skutecki, two sisters, Paula Skutecki-Tarr and Pamela Jenson, two sons,
Brendon Skutecki (Danielle Sanchez) and Damon Skutecki (Ilda-Janette Wilson), two step daughters,
Ellen Caldwell (Jesus Meraz) and Lydia Caldwell, his grandson, Landon Skutecki, his niece, Merideth
Benjamin, his nephew, Daniel Jenson, and his great niece, Marin Benjamin.
