LEGACY OF LIFE
Deborah Bolden, born December 15, 1954, in Dallas, TX, is a cherished daughter of Jonas (deceased) and Sarah Eldridge. She was one of ten (10) beloved siblings Verma (Issiac), (Billy (deceased), Connie, Tony (Sletha), Victor (Kathy), Penny (Brian), Barbara, Joey (deceased), David (Lisa), and Barbara. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.
Deborah, being a beautiful woman inside and out, encompassed the roles of wife, sister, aunt, daughter, niece, granddaughter, grandmother, friend, confidant, and encourager. She instilled great values into her beautiful, strong, and independent children, preparing them for all that life will bring their way and providing them a legacy to follow.
A devoted mother to sons – Lloyd “Tico” Hopkins, Alondo Deshaun Robinson, and Lorne Andre-Josef Hopkins
Deborah’s legacy extends through her grandchildren, as Lloyd, married to Kashuna, is a proud parent to Starry and Atllas. Lorne, married to Dasha, celebrates the joy of four children: L, Aolani, Mansa, and Langston. Alondo, married to Meriza, lovingly parents’ Angelo and Michelle.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, James H. Bolden, November 10, 2022. Their enduring twenty-year marriage flourished in Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they built a home filled with love and warmth. Together, they embraced a blended family of thirteen children and thirteen grandchildren. Antoine, Felicia, James, Tammy, Robert, Shelonda, Ronaele, and Braxtin. She loved them all very much.
Deborah’s selfless love and unwavering commitment to family defined her. Her passing on January 11, 2024, leaves a void that will be deeply felt, but her spirit and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Deborah possessed tremendous faith in God, A Prayer Warrior and loved her Savior Jesus Christ. It was natural for her to encourage others by sharing of her faith or of herself. She worked and retired from Hennepin County as a Social Worker dedicated unselfish hours to help underserved populations. She and James worked side by side endless hours as civil servants.
Deborah grew up in Tucson, Arizona attended Cavet Elementary, Utterback Middle School, Pueblo High School, and Pima College. She took business and entrepreneur courses to name a few. Her long term was to open her business titled “Deb Says Have Dessert” a specialty shop of delicious baked goods that served the Hopkins- Bolden family famous chocolate chip cookies.
She was a member of the Pueblo Warriors Marching Band. Played the Clarinet. She was an active member of South Park Church of God in Christ involved in Sunday School, YPWW. Purity Class and Young Women’s Christian Council. She is noted as a traveler, that lived vicariously and real through her children and on her own experiences.
A funeral service for Deborah will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Greater South Park Church, 2419 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A graveside service will take place Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery, 5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712, with a repass to follow at East Lawn Palms Mortuary.
