Dennis graduated from Albion College in 1966. This is where he first met the love of his life Bonnie Smith, whom he affectionately called "Peach". In turn, Bonnie had a nickname for him, "Charlie."This nickname came from a first-year dating anniversary gift, the Charlie Brown book "Love is Walking Hand in Hand.” Dennis and Bonnie were married on December 18, 1965. Through their 58 1/2 years of marriage, "Peach" and "Charlie" were always seen holding hands.
Throughout his life, Dennis exemplified loyalty and dedication in his work, spending over 15 years each with Chrysler, Storage Technology Corporation, and IBM, from which he retired. His career as a computer programmer took him and his family from Wixom, Michigan, to Westminster, Colorado, and Tucson, Arizona. Dennis and Bonnie chose Tucson to retire because of the perfect weather.
In retirement, he found joy in golf and travel, becoming a "timeshare wizard" and exploring with Bonnie by his side. His favorite destination was the beautiful island of Kauai, and he held a special place in his heart for Shipwreck Beach. Some of his best memories on the golf course were spent with his friends at the 49ers Golf Club, where they shared countless rounds.
Dennis was the loving father of three daughters: Laurie Sather (Mark), Debbie Millar (Jay), and Kathie Minerich (Paul). He cherished his role as a grandfather to nine grandchildren: Megan Hillius (Garret) and Ashley Holland (Connor); Joseph Millar (Madi), Adam Millar (Casey), and Jackson Millar (Rilee); Kyra Earle (partner Gary), Madisyn Stearns (RJ), Kennadie Minerich, and Baeli Minerich. Dennis was also a proud great-grandfather to Parker and Carson (children of Connor and Ashley), and Harper and Rhett (children of Megan and Garret).
Dennis will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, children, and sister Priscilla Alcantar.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Ellsworth and Hazel Haight, brother Christopher Haight, and sister Nancy Haight.
