wife Sarah and father of four children, passed away at the age of 83. Dennis was born
in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1935. His family moved to Tucson, Arizona during the
1950s where Dennis met and married Sarah Boehle, the love of his life. Soon after
he opened a garage, “Hohlenkamp Automotive.” He was well respected as an
intelligent and honest businessman within the automotive community. Dennis had
2 great passions in his life. First, he was an early member of the Tucson Sports Car
Club and spent every weekend at the motor speedway out by the airport during the ‘60s.
Eventually, he took interest in boating and became
an avid member of the Cholla Bay Sportsmen's Club. Going to Cholla Bay was one of
life’s pleasures he enjoyed the most. He and his family spent much of their free time
there where he found an immense appreciation for fishing, boating, and being with good
friends and family. Dennis also loved to watch Diamondbacks baseball and has probably
seen every game they’ve played. He had a sharp memory and could quote statistics
about any player who’s been a part of the Diamondbacks club. Dennis is
preceded in death by his beloved wife Sarah, and parents Elmer and Sudie Hohlenkamp.
He is survived by his brother, Roger Hohlenkamp (Marilee), four children, Carolyn Peak,
Sandra Aspacher (John), Steven Hohlenkamp, Cheryl Cummings (Wayne),
eight grandchildren, fourteen Great grandchildren, and two nephews.
