Dewayne Desha Charles Sr. was born August 1, 1972, in Wichita Falls, Tx. to Alberta Clayton and is the eldest of 2. He moved to Tucson, Az with his family at the age of 7 where he resided until the Lord called him home.
After receiving his GED Dewayne went on to receive a certificate in Water Waste Management. Prior to learning the Water Waste field, he was a cook and enjoyed working in the restaurant industry. Dewayne was a very endearing and charismatic person. He loved playing basketball, as a big man he dominated the court and could play all day. His love for family showed in the way he protected his little sister and cared for his great aunt in her latter years. He exuded pride when he spoke about his children and grandchildren, and he had the biggest smile when he learned of his niece and nephews’ accomplishments.
As Dewayne now rest in the bosom of our Lord, he leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Alberta Clayton, grandmother Eula Charles Britt, children Chrisean Charles (Jennifer), Dewayne Desha Charles Jr., Hope Richards, Kelly Charles, and Amaree Charles. He is also survived by grandchildren Mariah, Andrea, Antwan, Zyaire, Nehemiah, Londyn, and Skylar, sister Kelly Ihejiawu (Collins, deceased), Aunt Gloria Copeland (Robert, deceased), Uncles Elder Therman Britt (Terry) and Johnny Charles (Ginger), and special friend Cathy Welshans, and her children Brianna, Mya, and Carolyn along with his niece, nephew and host of cousins, and other relatives.
