

Donald Jim Caldwell was born May 12, 1943, in Pima County, Arizona. He graduated from Catalina High School in Tucson in 1961. He then earned an Associate of Arts from Eastern Arizona College and completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1966 from University of Arizona.
After graduation Don enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, where he was a Rigid Pavement Instructor at the Officer Candidate School. Following his time in the Army, Don worked for several pharmaceutical companies where he was a regional manager and director of sales. Don retired in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mr. Caldwell worked with Eastern Arizona College to implement the Donald J. Caldwell Nursing Scholarship from which 14 students have graduated and advanced within their careers. Top performers in their class have been assisted with continued education to earn Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing at Arizona State University and Brigham Young University.
After a long battle with cancer, Don passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. He wished for others to remember him for making the world a better place.
