

Following a long battle with dementia and recient fall, Donald Kastner passed away on July 23, 2020 in Tucson Arizona. Don was born April 1, 1934 in the town of Lasalle Illinois and lived his childhood in the town of Oglesby Illinois. He was the son of John and Adele Kastner along with being an older brother to Jerry Kastner. After graduating highschool he enlisted into the United States Navy.
While in the Navy, Donald served distinguisly as a Cheif Petty Hospital Corpsman for 20 years and retired in 1970. He servered on many navel ships such as the USS Rehoboth and the USS Independence.
After his retirement, Donald moved his family; wife Aretta Georgia and three sons, Rusty Arnold, Joseph Donald and Bradley Michael to the town of Cottonwood Arizona and then to North Bend Oregon.
During this time, Donald worked as Director of Materials as two different hospitols. He was also a coach to his sons in differnt sports and always tried to be involved in their lives. While in North Bend Oregon, Donald became the Exalted Ruler of the BPOE (Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks) lodge # 1160 during the 1980s. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and great father to his 3 boys family. Don Kastner will be greatly missed. Always and forever, your loving family
