Eileen’s Life Story
Eileen Janice Hardware’s life story and circle of life began September 28, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the younger of two daughters born to the union of the late Lirline Bell Alford and Issac Leonard Johnson. Eileen attended Gibbs Elementary School, Little Rock, Arkansas, Marina Jr. High School, San Francisco, California, and graduated from Polytechnic High School, San Francisco, California. She returned to Little Rock, Arkansas and attended Philander Smith College. Eileen relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area. She was the Administrative Assistant for the Berkley & Carter Law Firm, Director of Alameda Lawyer Referral Service for the Charles Houston Bar Association. Eileen married LaKennedy Hardware in 1996. Eileen moved to Tucson Arizona in 2005. She was an active member of Rising Star Baptist Church. In 2015 God moved through Eileen as founder and CEO of Bright Star Community Development Corporation which became the community outreach arm of Rising Star. In partnership with the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, and Feeding America National Back Pack Program, Bright Star supplies four Tucson schools with weekend meals during the school year for children. In the spring of 2017 the Food Pantry began operating, and currently on a monthly basis serves individuals, the elderly, and families in the community. Eileen possessed a love for music, and giving God worship and Praise. She sung throughout the Tucson community with the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Tucson chapters, Tucson Mass Choir, and Rising Star choirs. Eileen was an extraordinary woman. There are many in the community who will deeply miss and mourn her passing. Her life was one of service, love, compassion and excellence. Eileen made her transition with her loving husband and sister by her side. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: Husband, Lakennedy Hardware; father, Issac Leonard Johnson; sister Gwendell Patricia Carr (William); nephews, Solomon, William, Christopher, Erik; great nephews Christopher, and Darian; great-niece, Kerrigan; Talitha Bauch (Michael) who was like a daughter; Mark Harris, who was like a son; cousin, Renita Mitchell who was like a sister; two half -sisters, Cherie Brooks; Lenette Summerville, as well as a host of cousins, other relatives, and life-long friends.

The Home Going Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Rising Star Baptist Church 2800 East 36 Street, Tucson, AZ. 857432 Reverend Amos L. Lewis Officiating
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all proceeds be given to Bright Star Community Development Corporation, the community outreach project which she was Founder and CEO

I will remember Eileen as a pillar of the community who was so well connected to neighbors and friends and whose heart was big enough to include all who came to know her. She leaves a legacy of her community work that will be very sorely missed.
