Emily N McKinney

Community in Benton, MS. She married Gary Long and they raised three children in MS

and moved to Tucson in 1966. They were divorce in 1976. She met Joe McKinney in

1976 and they married on June 14, 1980. She welcomed, embraced and loved Joe’s

three daughters and their families like her own. She worked for Mutual of Omaha

Insurance and for the Pima County Attorney’s Office where she retired from in 1998.

She was an active member of the Saguaro Christian Church. She loved her family,

friends, Church, traveling, reading & butterflies. She is pre-deceased by her parents

Lester and Thelma Irwin: husband, Joe McKinney; son, Randy Long; daughter-in-law,

Patti Long; granddaughter, Jennifer Long Gilmore; grandsons, Matthew Long, Jacob

Long; and two great-grandsons. She is survived by sisters Carolyn Connaway, Nan

Thompson (Bill), Ann Ruliffson; son, Larry Long; daughters, Rachel Long Matthews

(Joel), Jacque McKinney Orr (Marvin), Carla McKinney Fairlie, Andrea McKinney Ruark;

four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on

Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saguaro Christian Church, 8302 E.

Broadway Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saguaro Christian

Church.
