Erik Esteban Cruz

Erik Esteban Cruz, 40, beloved son and brother passed away on December 4, 2020 in Tucson, AZ due to natural causes. Erik was born in Tucson and raised in Rio Rico, AZ. During his childhood he enjoyed playing soccer and golf. He graduated as the Nogales High School Salutatorian for the class of 1998, where he played on the volleyball team and was in the marching band. Erik earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy, with a minor in Spanish from the University of Arizona Magna Cum Laude in 2002. Erik earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’ Conner College of Law in 2007, passing the AZ State Bar Exam shortly thereafter.

Erik’s passions included music, reading, and cheering on the L.A. Dodgers; along with being an avid sports fan. His career included being an educator in Phoenix, Tucson and Nogales, AZ. Erik was a resident of Rio Rico, Tucson, Tempe, Phoenix, Yuma, and Green Valley, AZ. He also lived in Philadelphia, PA. Erik is survived by his Father, Benjamin Cruz Hernandez, his mother Sandra L. Eriksen, his brother Benjamin H. Cruz, and his sister-in-law Elizabeth A. Pinto.
