Erma Lee (Erma) Carpenter was born on August 7th, 1924 in West Virginia. She went home to the Lord on April 5th, 2013 in Tucson, Arizona with her family at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers LeeRoy and Patrick Taylor, and husband Robert Carpenter, the love of her life. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Glen Yotter, grandaughters Maurene Haggerty Yotter and Lillian Clark, her grandsons Matthew Yotter, Glen Yotter, and Anthony Yotter, sister Anne Spoltman, and her many cousins, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Erma thought her greatest legacy was her family, starting with her daughter Mary. In her younger years, she was known to dance, play, and ride tricycles with her grandchildren. She loved sharing stories about her late husband Bob and her time working as a telephone operator. Erma was passionate about sports and could name just about every player that played for the Dodgers since they came from Brooklyn to Los Angeles. Most importantly, she lived by example as a faithful Christian. She could make anyone smile, and her memory will be cherished by all that knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church at 1431 West Magee Rd., Tucson, AZ. 85704.
