Lovingly known as “Uncle Ernie”, was born on October 1, 1925. The son of the late William and Mary F (King) Tyree.
A 35 year employee of US SteelCorp. National Works in McKeesport, PA. Eldest son of six children, Ernest was called by God on December 15, 2013 after a short illness and stay at Peppi’s House here in Tucson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and son Kathryn and Gerald.
He met and married Lucy Carter Johnson in 2006 and leaves Lucy and a brother, John Frank of Texas. He is also survived by his nephew, Reverend Merle Gathers and his wife Yvonne; a daughter, Elder Mary F. Fowler-Garrison; and two sons, Ernest Jr. and Richard. A grandson, David L. of Tucson; Krystal E. of McKeesport, PA; fourteen other grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
