Angel was born Oct 3, 1941 when her parents Steve and Evangeline Whitesides were living in the mountain community of Big Bear California. She met Jack Brink, her future husband, while working at Fullerton Jr College (FJC), a job she took while recovering from major surgery that forced her to leave Simpson Bible College in San Francisco and return home in 1960.
Angel and Jack were married on August 22nd, 1960, and after Jack's graduation from FJC, they first moved to the University of California Riverside, but subsequently transferred to San Bernardino State College to complete Jack's degree. Angel was a full-time mother for 20 years for son John Douglas Brink, and daughters Debra Diann Bartlett, and Julie Deann Russell. Angel went back into the work force as a secretary at Azusa Pacific University in 1986, where she remained until hubby Jack was transferred from General Dynamics in Pomona, CA, to Hughes Missile Systems in Tucson, AZ.
After Angel arrived In Arizona, she became employed at Christ Community Church (CCC), where she became Pastor Brett Inman's secretary. Angel loved CCC, had mixed feelings about retiring, but finally did so in 2003. Angel enjoyed retirement, and stayed continually active in a church community group thereafter. She began having problems with the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease about a decade after leaving CCC, and finally lost that battle on August 5th, 2025. Although Angel is missed by many, she is now with her beloved Lord and Savior, finally disease and pain free!
To all,
On behalf of Angel, I want to again thank everyone who attended her memorial celebration.
Since many of you sacrificed both time and finances to be there, you truly honored Angel!
I want to especially thank Christ Community Church (CCC) for providing this opportunity.
Pastor Brett Inman and his secretary Barb Prentice coordinated the program arrangements
They were helped by CCC's Technical Director Keith Abbot, and CCC pianist Judy Scheffel.
A recording can be listened to by using CCC's 'Memorial Services' option, for August 25th.

Jack Brink
