Evelyn K. Spencer

Evelyn K. Spencer (Evy) 87, of Tucson, Arizona, peacefully passed away December 9. 2013. Evy, was born in Michigan on March 2, 1926, moving to Arizona in 1942, where she met Sam Spencer, her future husband of 59 years. They married December 31, 1943. Sam preceded Evy in death in 2003. They had two children, daughter Sammy Lynn Hughes (James) and son Kelly Spencer (Vicki). Sammy Lynn preceded Evy in death in 1987. Evy has five grandchildren, Tracey Hughes, Todd Hughes, Teague Hughes, Tegan Hughes and Melanie LaDue, and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Noelle LaDue. Evy has two surviving siblings, Virginia Nuzzo, of Edison, New Jersey and half-sister Meretta Slyvester, of Michigan, as well as three siblings who preceded her in death: Mary Helen Lopez, Royabel Wellman and Tommy Kelly. Evy retired from Sears Roebuck, working 30 years, where she formed lasting friendships. Evy was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She is loved, and will be greatly missed. Evy requested cremation and interment at East Lawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Cemetery 5801 E. Grant Road Tucson, AZ 85712.
