It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances B. Monteleone-Frantz, who peacefully left this world on June 29, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her niece, Angela, and her dear friend and caregiver, Michelle. Fran’s passing marks the end of a beautiful chapter, but she is now reunited in eternal life with her beloved husband of 34 years, Matthew O. Frantz.
Born on February 21, 1953, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Angelo and Anna Monty, Fran’s legacy of love and kindness is felt by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Angelo Monteleone. Survived by brothers, Frank, and John (Elisa) Monteleone and sisters-in-law, Vicki (Leo) Johnson,Cathi(Brad) Bell, brothers-in-law Patrick(Lori) and Michael Frantz along with a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Fran was also the cherished “Dida” to her great niece Gracyn and Great Aunt to Brinley, Breckin, Ella, Ryder, Regan, and River.
A proud graduate of Catalina High School, Fran’s early years led her into the world of tailoring, where she found fulfillment in crafting beautiful pieces of clothing before retiring from her career. Those who knew Fran will also remember her as an avid baker, particularly famous for holding the secret to the Monteleone Family Cheesecake recipe, a delicious treat that was always a highlight at family gatherings. Fran showed her love through the warmth of her oven, often surprising friends and family with freshly baked treats, or welcoming them to her home for unforgettable holiday celebrations alongside her late husband, Matthew.
Fran will be remembered for her unwavering generosity, her kind heart, and her devotion to family and friends. Her spirit will live on in the memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
A memorial service to celebrate Fran’s life will be held on July 18, 2025 at 10am at East Lawn Palms, 5801 E.Grant Rd.Tucson, AZ 85712
