Frank Aries 82, of Tucson, AZ, loved husband, father, patriarch, friend and philanthropist, died December 8, 2015, of leukemia in the loving embrace of his wife, Mary Lou. Frank is survived by sweetheart and bride of 20 years, Mary Lou Aries; his daughter, Jennifer (Seattle) and sons, Jonathan (Salt Lake) and Philip (Orange County); stepchildren, Susan Page (Queen Creek), John Yaryan (Reno) and a combined family of ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his adored sister, Sue Rosenberg and more recently, Francine Shafton and her husband, Morton. Frank was born November 5, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois the youngest of three children to Dr. Phillip and Anne Aries. He graduated from Tulane University in 1955 and moved to Tucson in 1957 which he always considered home, though he spent happy years in the Bay Area, Colorado and any ocean his passion for sailing led him. Frank's creative mind and strong business ethics gave him a perspective on life which enriched those who were fortunate to know him. Also many who never knew him have benefited from his years of community philanthropy and participation during his successful career in Tucson including support of symphony, Temple Emanuel, Congregation Chofetz Chayim, Dor L'Dor (Colorado), Hillel and the Tucson Community Center and Federation. It was Frank's gift for creating laughter and cheer in those around him that led to his wonderful marriage and many warm friendships. He is loved and will be remembered by his many good friends for his zestful embrace of life and generous spirit. Of all the lives he touched none brought him more joy than Mary Lou. His first reflection upon learning of his diagnosis was how happy the last 20 years have been with her in his life. Two of his dearest friends have been Irv Rosenberg (brother-in-law) and Donald Diamond with whom he shared true camaraderie for more than 50 years. Through highs and lows each has been a true friend. To his children, Frank remains an inspiration both as a model of what is possible and of what a life with purpose has to offer. Always kind and wanting what was best for each of them he gave with his heart and was always ready to help them move forward. A man who gave more of himself than he asked in return, whose embrace truly enveloped you with love. His wife, family and friends will always know him for his immense heart. Frank's wish for all who read this to share in a Moscow Mule (recipe provided on request). Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
