Frank Edward Melo

Frank E. Melo, CPA, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on October 1, 2026, after a courageous and long battle with cancer. Yet Frank never let it define him. He possessed an unyielding spirit. He was determined to carry on, and carry on he did. He was hopeful and never complained. Frank is survived by his devoted and beloved wife, Mimi; loving son Frank and wife Dyana; three wonderful granddaughters, namely Isabella, Gianna and Jenelle who called him Grampy; sister Beverly; and his extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lilyan and Frank Melo, and his brother Raymond. Frank grew up in Franklin, MA.

Throughout his lifetime, Frank was a big sports fan and participant. He had a knack for calling baseball and football games and golf tournaments like a pro and often quicker. He earned a degree in Accounting from Stonehill College and thereafter earned his CPA license. Frank had a love for and mastered all matters related to his profession for 45 years. He was a proud member of MassCPAs and AICPA. In addition, Frank took on the responsibility of managing his company’s travel and conventions department. While working on conventions he met Mimi, the love of his life. They married and settled in Massachusetts not far from where Frank grew up. Over the years, they travelled far and wide, on their own, with friends, but above all, with son Frank, Dyana, Isabella, Gianna and Jenelle, creating memories that will forever be treasured. In 2011, Frank and Mimi moved to warm and sunny Tucson, where they had been many times and had good friends. They joined the Ventana Canyon Club and Lodge. Frank perfected his golf game, playing as often as possible and enjoying every minute. Frank was known for his love of life, family, friends, and travel, and for his smile, resilience, boundless optimism, and kindness. A funeral mass and celebration of life will be scheduled, with details to follow.
