Gary L. Hanson

November 27, 1944 - May 26, 2015

Gary Lynn Hanson of Independence Missouri passed away at the age of 70 on May 26, 2015 in Tucson Arizona. Gary was born in Independence on November 27, 1944 to Leonard and Verona Hanson. He graduated from Williams Chrisman High School in 1962 and later went on to proudly serve in The United States Navy for 3 Years.

Gary's achievements in life were numerous but he will be remembered as an honorable man who loved and is loved.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Verona Hanson, daughter, Eva Fausett and grandson, Tommy Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Essie Hanson of Grand Junction, CO; brother, Robert Hanson (Diane Hanson); sons, Leonard Hanson (Jessica Charboneau), Tom Russell (Shirley Russell) and Freddie Hanson; daughters, Bambi Rush (Glen Rush), Dianna Fosdick (Richard Fosdick), Kimberly Peegarden and Meloney Martin. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services will be held on Tuesday June 2nd at East Lawn Palms Mortuary located at 5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712 starting at 9am. In lieu of flowers the family asks donation be made in his memory
