Originally from London, Gary moved to America to build a life with his wife, and together they shared 23 years of love, partnership and devotion. His wife was such an important part of his world.
Through the good times and the difficult ones, they stood beside one another and built a life filled with memories, love and companionship. The love Gary had for his wife was deep and unwavering, and the life they created together will always be one of the greatest parts of his story.
Gary was also incredibly proud of his daughter, He loved her, protected her and was always there when she needed him. He passed on his strength, determination and values to her, and the bond they shared is something that even death can never take away.
Gary was unbelievably talented. To those who knew him best, he really was an all-round genius. There seemed to be nothing he couldn't turn his hand to. He could build, repair, create and solve almost anything. If something was broken, Gary could fix it; if there was a problem, somehow he would find the answer.
He was a skilled carpenter, a trade that perfectly suited his incredible ability to create things with his hands. In his younger years, he was also a DJ, showing another side of Gary — his love for music, creativity and having a good time.
That love of music stayed with him throughout his life. In later years, Gary combined music with something even closer to his heart: his faith in Jesus. He created Christian songs, using his talent to express and share the faith that meant so much to him.
Gary was also a businessman. He owned and ran his own rental company, something that reflected his independence, intelligence and incredible work ethic. His mind was always working, creating and finding solutions. One of his proud achievements was even having a patent for cable ties, something that perfectly showed the clever, practical and innovative way his mind worked. He wasn't frightened of hard work and always found a way to get things done.
And then there were his dogs. Gary absolutely loved his dogs. They were family to him, and the bond he shared with them showed the softer, gentle side of a man who could otherwise seem capable of taking on the whole world.
When Gary became a grandad, there was another person for him to love, protect and be proud of. His family was his greatest achievement — far greater than anything he built, owned or accomplished.
Gary faced his final battle with extraordinary courage and determination. He fought hard, just as he had approached everything else in his life. His illness may eventually have weakened his body, but it never changed who Gary was.
A carpenter.
A DJ.
A successful businessman.
A songwriter.
A problem-solver.
A dog lover.
An all-round genius.
A devoted husband of 23 years.
A proud dad and grandad.
And above everything, a man who loved Jesus.
Gary's hands built many things during his lifetime, but the greatest thing he ever built was the life he created with the people he loved.
His legacy lives in the wife who shared 23 years by his side, in the daughter who will forever carry a part of her dad within her, and in the grandchild who will grow up knowing exactly what kind of man their grandad was.
It lives in his music, in the things he built, in the business he created, in the lessons he taught us and in all those moments when Gary somehow knew how to do something that nobody else did.
We will miss his voice, his knowledge, his strength, his ideas, his music, his love and simply having him there.
But Gary's faith gives us comfort now.
His battle is over.
His pain has gone.
And we believe he is home with the Jesus he loved so deeply.
He fought the good fight.
He finished the race.
He kept the faith.
Gary Webster didn't simply live a life.
He built one. He loved deeply. He left his mark.
And that is a legacy that will live on forever. ❤️
