Retired production worker Gary Witthuhn’s love of life did not come to an end with his death. Gary passed away peacefully on July 27, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Gary was born July 29, 1950 to Harold and Marion Witthuhn of Appleton, Wisconsin. After graduating from Appleton East High School in 1968 he went on to serve proudly in the United States Navy. During his time in service, Gary began pilot training which he continued throughout his life, ultimately earning his commercial multi-engine rating. Gary enjoyed showing pictures when sharing stories about his travels, which was nice because he had a good eye for photography. In 2017, Gary moved to Arizona where he resided with his daughter and son-in-law for the remainder of his years.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Gary, like having a few beers at the Friday fish fry with friends and family. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities and his pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. As a young man, he loved spending time at the family cottage. It was there on the lake where he would show off his water-skiing skills.
Gary is survived by his daughter Jessica, grandson Logan, brothers Bruce and David, sisters Gale and Diana, and many nieces and nephews. Bruce, Bobby, Cliff, Dick, Steve, and Tim are just a few of the special friends he leaves behind. Always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.
