Gayland Loren Weixeldorfer

He spent his early years in Kansas before moving to Tucson, Arizona, where he graduated from Sunnyside High School. Throughout his life, Gayland worked in various roles, most notably as a heavy equipment operator in the mining industry and as a long-haul truck driver—professions that reflected his strong work ethic and resilience.

Gayland was previously married to June Weixeldorfer, who passed away on July 4, 1988. Together, they had two children, Staci and Travis. Later in life, he found love again and married Pat Weixeldorfer, who survives him.

He had a deep appreciation for cars throughout his life—from the classic muscle cars that caught his eye in his youth to the satisfaction he found in rebuilding them over the years. His Dodge Charger was his pride and joy, a reflection of the care and attention he gave to the things he valued. Gayland also took great pride in his home, maintaining it with the same steady hand and commitment. He had long-standing friendships and showed his love for family with a mix of humor, grit, and his own unique way of doing things.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Ernest, and his brothers, Robert and Steve Weixeldorfer. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Staci Heard; her partner, Timothy Seeber; son, Travis Weixeldorfer; stepdaughter, Teri Underwood; grandchildren, Rachel Heard, James Weixeldorfer, Ashli Weixeldorfer, and Reece Johnson; and brother, Paul Weixeldorfer.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A graveside service will follow from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705.
