
George J. Weber, born April 8, 1927, passed away July 8, 2013. George was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, as one of nine children to Frank and Clara Weber. He is pre-deceased by his parents and brothers and sisters, Steve Weber, Rose Grafmeyer, Margaret Weber, Tommy Weber, Frank Weber, Alex Weber, Helen Schroeder, and nephew Frank Weber, Jr.
At the age of 17, he joined the Merchant Marine, followed by service in the United States Army, from 1944 until 1966, where he attained the rank of E-8, First Sergeant, and was named ASoldier of the Month@ on three occasions. George met Katherine Lee Pyle, who was also in the Army, at Fort Dix, New Jersey, where they were married on June 25, 1960, and had four children together.
George worked for 31 years in management for Chamberlain Corporation, first in New Jersey, then Chicago, Illinois, and eventually moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1976 where he worked for Chamberlain=s Nogales, Arizona/Mexico division.
Upon his retirement from Chamberlain Corporation, George worked for the Cascades Retirement Community as a security guard for an additional nine years, until his full retirement in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine, daughters Jaime Weber, Laurie Weber
and her children, Frank Ruggirello and Christina Neuman and husband Tim Neuman and great-grandchildren, Hannah and Knox; Katherine Thompson, son-in-law Steve Thompson, and grandchildren Michael and Christopher; Dawn Markve, son-in-law Michael Markve, and grandchildren, Garrett and Jordan.
George is also survived by his sister Mary Davis in Pennsylvania, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews: Sister-in-law Dolly Weber, niece Carol Clift and husband Greg Clift and their sons, Zane and Zachary; Joanne Weber, sons Matthew and Michael Weber and his wife Adrien, their daughter Melea and sons Mason and Maximus; Nephew Barry Weber and wife Erika and their daughter Sara Murray and husband Angus Murray and family; Niece Tina Anthony and husband James Anthony and their daughter Brianna; Niece Pamela Crivellaro and husband Frank Crivellaro and family; Nephew Rodney Medei and family; Nephew James Medei, Jr., his son James Medei and family; Nephew Richard Weber and wife Linda Weber and her children, daughter Lori and son Richard, Jr.; Niece Kathleen White and husband Ron White and family; Niece Darlene Weber of Florida; Nephew Jeffery Schroeder and family of Georgia; Nephew John Schroeder and wife Pat and their family of Long Island, New York; Niece Barbara Piccirillo and husband Dennis Piccirillo and their sons Owen and Evan of Long Island, New York.
No one could have asked for a better husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He was a great person and we will miss him, but will always remember him with love and respect for the life and example he set for all of us.
Services will be held at East Lawn, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona, on
Monday, July 15, 2013. Viewing is at 11:00 a.m., Chapel Services at 12:00 p.m., with graveside service to follow.
