

Gordon spent much of his youth in Tucson and graduated from Tucson High in 1952. After serving in the Army and working for Civil Service, he began his 38 year career as a Brakeman/Conductor; with Southern Pacific Railroad in 1959 and retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1997. He enjoyed his railroad career but loved his lifelong friends he met while employed there. He was a longtime member of the Elks Club and loved fishing and socializing with his friends and remembering his railroad days.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Niece Karen Anderson and grandson Justin Kyman. Gordon leaves behind his wife Shelley Schlote, whom he was happily married to for 49 years and is also survived by his two children Eric (Michelle) Schlote, Tracy (Vince) Ingegneri. His five grandchildren Cody Kyman, Erica Schlote, Anthony Ingegneri and Jessica Schlote. He is also survived by his two siblings, Lorraine Hayes, Bill Schlote along with his favorite nieces Michelle Erickson, Cory Pintor, Laura Valencia.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, December 11, 2015 at East Lawn Mortuary.
