December 12, 1958 – September 13, 2026
Our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, and beloved family member, Guadalupe “Lupita” Legarda Mendoza, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by all those who loved her dearly.
Lupita was born on December 12, 1958, in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Eva Legarda Mendoza and Manuel Mendoza. She was the eldest of nine children and, from an early age, carried the strength, love, and responsibility that would define her throughout her life.
She was the most amazing mother, grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joy and purpose in life was being a mother. She gave everything she had to her children, never asking for anything in return. Through her example, she taught us courage, resilience, patience, compassion, and, above all, unconditional love.
There are simply not enough words in the dictionary to describe the selflessness that was Lupita Mendoza. She lived a life of service and love. She faced countless obstacles throughout her life, yet somehow made overcoming them look easy. She was the definition of strength. No matter what life placed in front of her, she continued to move forward with grace, courage, and a heart that always had room for others.
Her beautiful and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She gave comfort when we needed it, strength when we felt weak, and love without conditions. Her presence brought warmth to our family, and her love created memories that will remain with us forever.
Lupita leaves behind a tremendous void in our hearts, but she also leaves behind the greatest gift of all: the lessons she taught us and the example she lived. Because of who she was as a person and as a mother, she taught us all to keep going, to be strong, and to push forward no matter how difficult life may become.
She is survived by her seven children: Patricia Sandoval, David Sandoval, Fernanda Mendoza, Gabi Collins, Amy Gomez Mendoza, Rosario Gomez Mendoza, and Hanna Gomez Mendoza; her 10 grandchildren; and her six surviving siblings, along with many beloved family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva Legarda Mendoza and Manuel Mendoza, and her brothers, Victor Mendoza and Marco Antonio Mendoza.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort knowing that the love she gave us will never leave us. Her strength lives in her children, her love lives in her grandchildren, and her memory lives in every person she touched.
Rest peacefully, Mom. Your work here was filled with love, and your legacy will continue through all of us. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry you in our hearts forever.
