Gustavo Escalera Bellos, 31, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on September 10, 2026. He was born and raised in Tucson to his loving parents, Ana Bellos and Modesto Escalera. He leaves behind his parents, his sisters, Isamar and Debora, and his beloved son, Lincoln, who was his whole world.
Gustavo was funny, smart, stubborn, and a true jokester. He could make you laugh, drive you crazy, and somehow have you laughing again moments later. He was simply Gustavo, and there was no one quite like him.
Gustavo proudly served in the Army National Guard and took great pride in his military service, his work, and the people he served alongside. His military family meant so much to him.
Family and friends were at the center of Gustavo’s life. He loved bringing people together and making sure no one ever felt left out. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, and friend. Whenever people visited Tucson, he loved showing them around, taking them out for food and drinks, and making sure they always felt welcome.
He was especially proud of his mom and loved bringing his military family to her home to enjoy her cooking. Her small kitchen became a place of gathering, filled with laughter, jokes, good food, and memories. Those moments will always be treasured.
Gustavo loved his son deeply. Lincoln was his world, and being a father was one of the most important parts of his life. He also cared deeply for his parents and loved spending time with his sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, anime, video games, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and space. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like Waffle House and hot dogs from the corner of Food City.
Gustavo was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. We are incredibly proud of the man he was, the father he became, and everything he accomplished.
We will miss his laugh, his jokes, his stubbornness, and all the little things that made him Gustavo. We wish we had more time, more memories, and more days with him, but we will forever be grateful for the time we were given.
Gustavo, you will always be loved, always be missed, and never be forgotten. You will forever live in our hearts.
Until we meet again, rest peacefully.
