Love, Sympathy and Many Unending Prayers...the world lost an Angel when Heidi went to Heaven...Sincerely, Kimberly, Kristin and Laurel Parratt...Montana and Washington State

I first met Heidi and Curt when i worked as a seasonal ranger for Rocky from 1991-1994.  During that time i worked for the Nature Association too, driving a tour bus and cashiering in their bookstores.  During some of that time i actually worked for Heidi, and now and then she would quietly let slip the depth of compassion she felt for Curt while he watched his first wife slip away.  I remember passing Curt's office door and seeing his chair turned toward the window.  You had to know his mind was elsewhere, and it was impossible not to feel his sorrow.  I knew that Curt and Heidi had later married, and i was overjoyed that they had found each other and a  new life together.  Imagine my shock to learn just now (April 2021) of Heidi's passing.  My heart breaks for you, Curt, and i am so deeply sorry.  My life is still wrapped around the Nature Association, as i divorced before leaving Estes, and am now Natalie Fullmer, the daughter-in-law of the former Fort Laramie Historical Association business manager.  I have thought of you both often.  Now i'll think of you even more.  I am so sorry Curt.   Genuinely, truly, heartbroken for you.  Heidi was a great gal.

I met Heidi thru early morning Bible study at Cocos, Tucson, a few years ago.   We kept in contact over the summer.   I recently visited her and when we realized how close we lived to each other and our mutual love of jigsaw puzzles, I couldn't wait to visit Heidi again!  But of course she mentioned that hospice would be starting the next day.......  I'm so grateful to have known such a gentle caring soul...... thankful she could visit with her sisters and had Curt by her side.  I will think of you often smilin Heidi!

I met Heidi in the 1990s when we were both a part of the worship team at our church in Estes Park. We were both Scandinavian, she being Norwegian and me, Swedish. We looked similar with our blond hair, blue eyes, and glasses. Several times our pastor called me Heidi. I didn't want to embarrass him so I didn't say anything but Heidi and I would laugh about it later.
 
We became hiking buddies through a mutual friend, Denise Friesen and that is where our friendship grew deeper. We enjoyed many wonderful hikes together around Rocky Mountain National Park. 
Even after my family & I left Estes Park, Heidi and I remained close through phone calls & occasional visits. My heart sank when I heard about her cancer diagnosis but I've been so blessed and inspired by her bravery through it all. Her wonderful sense of humor did not fade and encouraged me when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that affected my balance. 
One of our last hikes together was Lilly Lake in RMNP. We were halfway around the lake when a storm came quicker than expected with dangerous lightning. I was using a walker and Heidi grabbed it, pulling it while I held on for dear life, walking as fast as I could. What a sight we must have been trying to make it back to the car. We laughed so hard when safely in the car. 

Heidi was a special friend for 30 some years and I miss her very much. We both believe in the God of the bible who is with us always, even until the end of our days. She is with Him now. Free from pain and heartache. May God comfort you, Curt and all those who love her.  



Our time with Heidi and you, Curt, was just by chance and quite brief - but in that short visit we got to know of the lovely, creative, charming and warm hearted lady you so loved and shared life with!  We are sorry for your great loss, Curt!   Tom and Karen Everson

Heidi was my best friend at a crucial time in my life. From grade school to young teenagers we had so many adventures I could write a book. I was fortunate enough to reconnect with her as an adult and visit her home in Estes, meet her fabulous husband Curt, see all the amazing things she has done and share “old time memories”. It was so very good to know her. Once a friend, always a friend. I look forward to seeing her again! Love and prayers to all the family and especially you Curt. Blessings, Caroline 

Sweet Heidi, we miss you. Heidi was a wonderful friend and neighbor in our closeknit community in Tucson.  In the years I knew her I never once heard her say anything unkind about anyone or any thing.  She handled her illness with tremendous grace and fortitude.

Curt and Heidi loved Glacier National Park, Montana and that is where I was raised....one summer one there were there with their sons, I was fortunate enough to go on a very long hike with all of them to Granite Park Chalet...it was a very memorable time...all of them just hustled along and I had trouble with my feet...Brett kindly stayed with me as I was really lagging behind...that is just one of the many memories that I have of handsome Curt and pretty Heidi.
